Inter-setting Protection of Skin Integrity (IPSI)

The purpose of the Inter-setting Protection of Skin Integrity Participating Hospital and Nursing Home (“IPSI”) study was to standardize skin assessment methods and the communication of skin integrity across sites of care. The goal was to reduce the occurrence and severity of pressure ulcers in hospitals and nursing facilities. CFMC conducted on-site visits with participating facilities. This study was completed in the Spring of 2005 and involved 4-5 acute care settings, and 10-15 long-term care facilities.
